Ten years ago, in the month of July, we pioneered Christian broadcasting in Kenya by launching the first Christian Radio and T.V stations in the country (Family TV and Radio 316-Formerly Family F.M.). The signal covered 100km radius of Nairobi and its suburbs only back then. This was done at our first office, the NSSF building in Nairobi.

As more partners began to support Family Media, the broadcast reach grew from Nairobi to Limuru and on to Nakuru with the construction of a new tower in Menengai area of Nakuru in 2003. Today, the station covers major towns like Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kakamega and whole of Central and East Africa via satellite. Like our C.E.O -Leo says, we broadcast 24 hours a day on both radio and TV so as to spread the Gospel and we are technically capable of reaching the whole continent of Africa for Jesus within six months, but we are limited by our budget which is not big enough.

The vision of this ministry is to become the leading Christian broadcaster in Africa. Our mission is to reach the whole of Africa with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through accurate, wholesome, inspirational and positive information on Family television, radio 316, Family satellite and the Family Media website (www.familykenya.com).
