ON RADIO FOR THE FIRST TIME IN KENYA

Radio 316 is taking gospel music to the next level in a way that has never been experienced in any other media house in Kenya before. Starting this Saturday from 2pm Radio 316 has a new show dubbed "Bill Gaither Home Coming Show" ,maybe some of you have watched the show on Family TV . For all the Christian Country music lovers this is a show you wouldn't want to miss at any point since the time is so convenient. But incase you miss it on Saturday; you can always catch the repeats this and any other Sunday from 8pm.

Just Like other forms of music the creation, performance, significance, and even the definition of Christian country music varies according to culture and social context. It is composed and performed for many purposes, ranging from aesthetic pleasure, religious or ceremonial purposes, or as an entertainment product for the marketplace. However, a common theme as with most Christian music is praise, worship or thanks to God. Today, Christian country music has blended with a new brand of music called Positive Christian Country music.

The music tends to deal with life's problems and God's answers to those problems, and it doesn't sound like the religious music of years past. It has attracted extraordinary talent and quality in production, thereby making it palatable to the ears of the un-churched who like the sounds of today's country music. It's becoming a tool for evangelism all over the world and through it many churches have sprung up around the country with country gospel as their main musical format.

Many of us know Bill Gaither. When he was born in March 28, 1936 his parents named him William J. Gaither. He is an American singer and songwriter of southern gospel and Contemporary Christian music. He has written numerous popular Christian songs with his wife, Gloria. Besides performing solo and with his wife, Gaither has appeared as part of the Bill Gaither Trio, the Gaither Vocal Band, and as a part of his "Homecoming" groups. Bill and Gloria still live in Indiana and have three grown children.
