Almost all media houses, Family Media included, are having debates every now and then on the draft constitution. This is not because they do not have something else to air but it's for the sake of helping Kenyans understand the document well and be able to make the right decision on 2nd July, the referendum day. Besides Cross Talk – the current affairs show that comes every Wednesday from 8pm – Family Media has gone a mile further and come up with a blog dubbed ‘Constitutional Crossroads' to give Kenyans a chance to freely air their take and feelings on the document. So far, we have had two heated discussions: the church leaders' stand and legalization of abortion. Join in the discussion now at www.radio316.net and click on blog.
The constitution is really important to us all and the generations to come. A lot, therefore, depends on the decision we will personally make in the referendum. In the past few weeks we have seen political and church leaders publicly declaring their stands. Some church leaders have said that they will vote against the document because it has some clauses they are unhappy with or that contradict bible teachings; specifically the abortion question and Kadhi courts.
We at Family Media feel that Kenyans should be able to make an informed choice. Towards this end, Cross Talk has been hosting renowned and very resourceful professionals that include lawyers who analyse and expound on the document so as to enlighten our viewers.
The blog gives an opportunity to people in the Diaspora and areas where Family Media frequencies are not available, as well as those who miss the shows or those who want to share their views on the document. What's more, those who have not had a chance to read the document can do it on the blog too!
Read the document carefully and make the right decision. Visit our blog to see what other people feel about the constitution and also to give your views. Go to www.radio316.net and click on BLOG . We would also like to know what subject or clause you want discussed on the blog as well as Cross Talk.
