316 CLASSICAL: Sundays 10am to 1pm

CLASSICALLY GENIUS

Did you know that classical has its roots in Christianity? Countless classical composers have written sacred works for the Church over the past millennium. Today, classical music can be rediscovered to enrich the quality of our praise and worship. Family aims to keep Jesus on the airwaves in form of beautiful arrangements and harmonies of sound on the 316 Classicals music Show, hosted by Lola Akwabi.

Music played a big part in the Bible, all the way from the Old Testament. It was used largely by David when expressing his love and gratitude to God. The scriptures encourage us to use musical instruments and our voices to praise God in song. Most instruments referred to at the time resemble today's classical instruments.

Psalms 150:3-5 “Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing,  praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.”

“There is a need to create awareness that there is sacred classical music,” stated Lola, a very gifted classical musician. She said we can receive blessings by attending classical concerts which are put together for worship. This week the show will feature a special opera by Handel, among other pieces. The marvelous composition is based on the story of Saul in the Bible. It shows how music can communicate a message in a way that words never can.

We are encouraged to spread and share in the Good News in every way we can. 316 Classics is a show that cuts across all ages, to appreciate an amazing gift we have been given in music. Tune in this Sunday and take part in this movement.
