CROSSTALK-TUESDAY, 10PM

MARTHA KARUA-HER ACCOUNTABILITY

“Each party member accounts for themselves before the law.” These were the words of Martha Karua in response to Fred Njiri, the host of Crosstalk during a heated discussion. She was referring to the fact that she cannot account for each and every member of her party, despite the fact that they should have a common responsibility. There have been perceptions that several members of Ms. Karua’s party, Narc Kenya are engaged in the very vices that she is fighting against.

Martha Karua states that she is a firm believer in politics based on issues and substance, rather than personalities in leadership. This is one of the reasons that she declares that she is running for presidency in 2012. Karua’s mission is guided by specific goals she has for Kenya. They are: to put Kenya first, before the interests of individuals, realize our potential and secure our future. Other than a minister, Ms. Karua has been human rights and justice activist, as well as a lawyer.

Kenya is anticipating the next presidential elections, with the common hope for peace, God-given leadership and a spirit of servitude. We pray that the country will be led through the example of Jesus, who is the perfect leader of mankind.  Matthew 20:26-28; “… Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
