HONEST AND CANDID DISCUSSIONS.

CROSS TALK ON FAMILY T.V.
EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8.00PM

Cross Talk is current affairs programme that tackles issues affecting the Christian community in their daily walk. Christian scholars or eminent personalities invited on the show seek to provide biblical precepts and answers to questions on various pertinent topical issues that especially affect the church or the Christian faith. Opinions from viewers are taken into account and the guests give their objective views.

The moderator, pastor Stanley Mwalili, who is seen as the voice of reason, seeks to help come up with practical, scripture-based solutions to these issues. Crosstalk is an avenue for honest and candid discussion, in a sober atmosphere, on issues touching our everyday life as Christians.

Some of the heated debates on the past shows include some of the current issues affecting Kenyans. These include - what role does the church play vis-à-vis the government? Is it biblical for the church to interfere in state matters? In the past few weeks the church has raised its voice in matters affecting the nation. Some sections have called for fresh elections,   others for accountability while others have remained silent. The host engages the panel as well as Kenyans who also give their views on a particular topic through VOX pops.

Some other issues like church management and why wrangles are witnessed are also discussed and during a recent interview on Crosstalk established that to effectively run churches in Kenya, professional management is required but with some church leaders, professional management has been embraced by most established churches unlike the ones in rural areas.

Regarding corruption in the church, the some leaders are unanimous that it is indeed a problem that is hindering effective ministry. Corruption in the church takes many forms – misappropriation of funds, sexual immorality, abuse of office by lack of consultation or high-handedness etc. Sexual immorality in particular, is a problem that even Paul cautioned about several times because it plagued the church even in those days.

This week on Cross Talk pastor Mwalili talks to the Chair of Kenya National Commission on Human Rights and the Secretary General of Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, on Reforms within Kenya.  With the Constitutional Review underway and all stakeholders involved, we get to find out what role the Civil Society, the government and the church are doing towards birthing a new Kenya. This and much more only on Cross Talk.
