Family Media would like to thank all those who made it last weekend to our ‘Meet the People Tour' at Westgate Shopping Mall. The day was significant to both Family Media and our audience who made time to meet their favorite presenters live on location.
The rock band, Bloodshed, graced the function. They were interviewed by Mike on Mic on Radio 316 during a live link. They also got a chance to mingle with Radio 316 fans and the Family Media crew. Bloodshed is a group of young Christian rockers that are making waves in Nairobi. They are passionate about spreading the Gospel of Christ through their musical performances. The rock band was formed in 2002 and the band derives its name from Colossians 1:20 "and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross". Bloodshed's mission is to proclaim God's word through their lives and music. "We write songs that represent how we feel or that address issues that for one reason or the other close to our hearts," says Dan Nduati, group coordinator. The group songs tend to be sad and vary musically some would fall under the genre of hard rock while others are very acoustic and mellow.
In addition to the action at Westgate, the young and young at heart were treated to a live shooting of the all favorite Kuwa Tofauti show. Faith Nkatha and Jeff Njuguna interviewed the lively crowd and discussed an assortment of topics. Watch out for Kuwa Tofauti which airs weekly on Tuesdays at 7:30pm while repeat shows are set for Thursdays at 3:30pm and Fridays at 2:00pm.
During our ‘Meet the People Tour', we have met extraordinary individuals. Recently we encountered Sisay Aenasu, a young man in his mid twenties who came into Kenya from Ethiopia 10 years ago. Sisay has watched Family TV over the years and listened to Family FM (now Radio 316) ever since. The programmes have given him hope and inspired him to be a better person. He loves the whole concept of our tagline, ‘Love on Air'. The passionate interior designer who even changed his email address to suit Radio 316 says that not watching Family TV and listening to Radio 316 is like traveling without a compass since it provides a buffet of programmes that give hope, inspire and transform people's lives. We look forward to inspiring even more people across our borders as we reach out with Christ's Good News.
