FAMILY CARING FOR YOU.

Lawyers on call a weekly programme show that advices you on all your legal matters from will writing to getting justice in our law courts is back on your favorite T.V station bigger and better this and every Thursday from 10.00PM with your all time favorite host Fred Njiri who invites legal practitioners from across the country with vast experience on legal issues.

We all know that the legal system in our country within which justice is sought remains complex in the eyes of many not to mention the lengthy processes involved as parties strive to gain judgment. Access to justice in Kenya is further constrained by ignorance of the justice system, outdated and complex procedures and laws, corruption, and inefficiency consequently locking out thousands of Kenyans from effectively presenting their grievances in courts of law or administrative tribunals.

The adversarial nature of our legal system means that the extent to which parties’ access justice is, to a large extent, determined by their knowledge and capacity to effectively present their case. This inevitably gives undue advantage to those who can afford lawyers. The poor and un-educated are particularly disadvantaged by the intimidating atmosphere in the courts and the language used.

We at Family Media therefore acknowledge that access to justice is a fundamental human right and we endeavor to rid people of the ignorance and fear of the judicial process. Our SMS line is left open to allow our viewers ask or comment on the subject. (4316)

When we review the past episodes, we believe they have elicited tremendous response from our viewers and the legal fraternity at large. Lawyers on Call will strive to provide legal information to the public as we try to remain relevant at all times by tackling most common and sensitive legal issues biting most Kenyans.
