Doctors on Call is a show in a class of its own. It has become a hit with many viewers around the country and even beyond. The 2-hour monthly live show, which airs from 4:00pm every second Sunday of the month on both Family TV and Radio 316 , attracts more than a thousand text messages and about 400 phone calls per show! It is the only local TV show that offers free medical consultation.
Family Doctor is another must-watch show that comes on Family TV every Monday at 7:30pm. If you are a regular viewer of this show you must have noticed a change in last week's programme. In particular, you couldn't have missed the Missers a new segment that illustrates how some doctors make careless mistakes that may evolve into very costly tragedies in terms of lives and resources. The punch line of this segment is if you doubt the diagnosis or treatment of a doctor, seek a second opinion; do not hesitate to see another doctor. Don't take chances be sure.
We can apply the same message to our spiritual lives. We can't afford to experiment with it. We must be sure about our relationship with Christ and our eternal destiny. This was the theme last week on Crosstalk a current affairs show on Family TV that comes every Wednesday at 8:00pm. The topic "is the church a roadblock to Jesus" explored some of the ways in which some churches or church leaders mislead their flock. Whereas I know that many churches are effective and efficient avenues for bringing lost souls to Christ, there are some that capitalise on most people's lack of sufficient bible knowledge, to exploit and mislead them.
So there is need to ask yourself, Is what I'm being told or taught biblically sound? If in doubt, my advice is that you seek a second opinion; don't allow anybody or anything to stand between you and Christ. My opinion (and that's according to the Bible) is that all people can come to Jesus, by simply asking Him to come into their heart!
So what stops you from doing that and establish an everlasting relationship with Jesus?
