Wow, how do I describe Morning Jam?
I would say that it is a kick-start to the day or maybe an energy pill to pull you out of bed and keep you going through out the day, until the time you end up back in your bed at the end of the day.
Or maybe, it would be like walking into a restaurant and you are served with a buffet of delicacies, the main course in this case is the Music. Music that has a positive message, cranks you up, out of bed through the traffic and once in the office helps keep the working atmosphere on a high.
Morning Jam concentrates on all areas in our lives, from spiritual, to financial once in a while inviting guests that are an authority on their fields of expertise to shed light on areas of interest. For example, how the stock market works or how to maximize your potential while minimizing your personal risks. In this respect, Morning Jam can be viewed as a learning forum, a place where can pick up street smart knowledge and information from the school of life.
Morning Jam would not be complete without bits of humor and humorous exchanges as listeners get caught up in the fun and inspiration which are the trademarks of the Morning Jam, and there is enough of that. Fridays or "Furahi days",as they have become popularly known as on Morning Jam, have grown to be a favorite for many.
Fridays are set aside as the "mwananchi" show where listeners get their requests played all morning long through out the Morning Jam. In a sense, the listeners take control of the music.
But there are times on Morning Jam, when serious issues are at the centre of attention. Especially when these are issues that weigh heavily on society or topics with which we struggle to come to terms with Morning Jam is bound to be there to hear your views and opinions and offer hope and direction ( through scripture) concerning this points. At the end of the day it is our goal and desire that Morning Jam will positively inspire every listener, to be at our best as we possibly can be for the day and hence lead more fruitful lives. Judging from the success stories we normally receive via SMS , email and phone calls, it is true that the effects of Morning Jam do reach its objectives, and we are happy to hear this.
Morning Jam has over time won the hearts of many, some supposedly calling from Texas, (with a major Kyuk/wana be American accent).There is some young lady from Georgia(US), another from the United Kingdom, and heap loads locally, all blending to bring out the different characters that God has created; but ultimately coming together through the Morning Jam to learn, enjoy music that you can believe in and live the life that Christ promised us "Abundant life".
Of course it's not without its challenges. It is not easy stay dynamic, relevant, fun, and positive on a daily basis but God has been faithful. He has renewed our minds as the Morning Jam team to give us refreshing ideas, under the good leadership of Leo Slingerland.
