If you have been reserving your Sunday afternoons, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm to be precise, for a nap or a walk in park, it is time to change the trend! With a trendy and vibrant show on Radio 316, you have a brighter and trendier way of spending the afternoon. The Trend , which is hosted by Pete Odera, plays gospel music from all over Africa. During the show listeners get an opportunity to request their favourite local songs by sending a short message to 4316.The programme also features exclusive interviews with some of the best gospel artistes in Kenya today and all over Africa, the hottest information in the industry as well as many other surprises that are always in store.
According to Pete, The Trend aims at showcasing Kenyan Christian music by giving an opportunity to our listeners in the Diaspora to get a feel of what God is doing to many in Africa through music. “To be precise, this show is actually a radio magazine and has a segment dubbed ‘Journey through Africa' where I play contemporary gospel music from Africa and have interviews with both budding and prominent artistes,” he says.
The show targets the forgotten generation that most radio stations/presenters hardly talk about or even play music that they can identify with. Pete says, “There has always been a misunderstanding when it comes to entertainment. Most of us target the jumpy … you know, people who can jump up and down forgetting that not all listeners are ‘teenagers'. My show is unique in that I play music suitable for young adults – both Christians and non-Christians. I got big surprises in store for all my listeners; just keep it tuned to Radio 316 – you will not be disappointed!!!”
