SHAKE …

MEET THE PRODUCER LENNY RUVAGA

FM: Who is Lenny?

Lenny: Wow! Let me see… Lenny is an energetic young man who loves Christ so much, ..i mean the fact that he died for me while i was still a sinner..now that's love plus he chose me even before i was formed..wow..social, fun loving and a man of the people. I am an extrovert and also the consumate professional all in one breadth.

FM: It is said that behind every successful man there is a woman, who is the magician?

Lenny: There are a number of them, my mum to begin with. Her love cannot be quantified, her resolve has been unquestionable. The fact that she has the heart and ability to love so many people some of whom she is not related to. She is just kind and loving. Wow… she has been a major foundation in my life.

Secondly, there is the love of my life whoepitomises the Proverbs 31 woman she's my best friend

FM: A lot of people out there think Shake is a foreign program?

Lenny: No… no… no… Shake is 100% locally produced. What makes them think so is that we do not have local music, we have a professional team from the director, editor to the camerame who use synergy to make it anawesome show . The presenter, Amber, maintains high standards in the show then people think it is a foreign show. But I want to assure you that it is 100% locally produced.

FM: What does it take to produce Shake?

Lenny: You have to know your music well, have a heart for journalism, a heart of ministering through music and the love of production.

FM: How long have you been a producer of Shake?

Lenny:Growing up i first watched Shake in the mid nineties on KTN ,when The Friendship Company produced it.After it's ten year hiatus it made it's grand re-entry bigger and better and i must say it is an honour to be part of history in the making. To answer your question i have beenproducing Shake for the last three years.

FM: Ups and downs of producing the program?

Lenny: Hmmm… the ups are many but I will refine myself to a few. It is really moving when I get so many emails and text messages of people appreciating the work we do as a team. Seeing where we have come from and are at now is really uplifting. The host being able to improve tremendously over time, at times I am even shocked of her ability. Oh! And before I forget, I love the exclusive interviews we have in the program with international artists.

As for the downs; it becomes very difficult to satisfy everyone and you will have people complain here and there but we try to satisfy all our fans tastes and needs from praise to worship.

FM: Apart from Shake, what other program(s) are you involved in?

Lenny: I am also involved in Cross Talk and a number of show that are in the pipeline.

FM: You seem to be having so much energy in you, where does it come from?

Lenny: If comes from God. If I don't do it the stones will not. The fact that He has called me to his work and all the good things He has done in my life, I ought to give him my all and that is the source of my energy.

FM: Favourite sport?

Lenny: There are a number of them. To begin with, I love basketball. I started playing at a young age and the love for the game has been growing since. I love watching rugby, lifting weights..does playing play station and x-box qualify as a sport.

FM: What do you love doing most during your free time?

Lenny: Hmmmm… I love giving back to society through charity works such as visiting children's home, and my favorite passtime of all chilling.

FM: Do you have a mentor? If so, who?

Lenny: Yes I do, many for that case. But I will stick to spiritual, professional and social mentors. Joseph Mwai of NPC Karen has been my mentor over the year, he has helped me in my spiritual walk and I thank him so much for that.

Professionally I have Leo Slingerland whose constant push and persistence has enabled me be who I am today professionally.

Socially, my parents have been such an inspiration. They have helped me go the extra mile.

FM: Any advice for people out there?

Lenny: Pursue your dreams, believe in yourself and always put Christ first in all that you do.The scriptures that keep the embers of my heart ,soul and mind constantly rejuvinated are John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 8:6 and finally Psalm 27. and this is not to take away other parts of the Bible because it's the living word.it's just that these verses have always held true and always will.
