ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE WEEK |
Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer (Psalms 4:1 NIV). We all want answers. In every circumstance, God has more answers than we have questions. His wisdom gives us the answers we need. Many of the questions we ask come about because we believe we are helpless over circumstances in our life. In God's infinite wisdom and love, He readily shows us we are not helpless; He readily shows us we are not hopeless; He speaks to us and gives us all the answers we need. Many times, as we think, meditate, and pray to God each day, we know He is constantly answering us and helping us.

ON A LIGHT NOTE |
Two elderly, excited women were sitting together in the front pew of church listening to a fiery preacher. When this preacher condemned the sin of lust, these two ladies cried out at the top of their lungs. "Amen, Brother!" When the preacher condemned the sin of stealing, they yelled again... "Preach it, Pastor!" And when the preacher condemned the sin of lying ... they jumped to their feet and screamed, "Go ahead … man of God ... Tell it like it is ... Amen!" But when the preacher condemned the sin of gossip, the two got very quiet, and one turned to the other and said, "He's quit preaching and now he's meddling!"

Practical life teaches us that people may differ and that both may be wrong: it also teaches us that people may differ and both are right. Anchor yourself fast in the latter faith, or the former will sweep your heart away.
