For more than twenty years now, Kenyans have craved for and even shed blood in their search for a new constitution. As such, failure by leaders to give Kenyans an acceptable constitution will be the greatest betrayal against the people of this land. Our nation is at a make-or-break point. The decisions we make regarding the draft constitution will have an impact for centuries to come. Focus should therefore not be on the transient concerns, but on posterity. The draft has some contentious issues despite which Parliament passed the document without taking into account the consequences. There are conflicting views on the draft that are coming from church leaders on the one hand and politicians on the other, leaving Kenyans confused, especially because most have not seen it leave alone read it.
